The Future Funders Institute (FFI) is a one-year program designed to provide WePoc managers with the foundational skills they need to be successful investors, leaders, and contributors to the communities where they invest. Allocators (family offices, foundations, endowments, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds) are actively involved in all aspects of the training. Highly curated introductions are made to enable managers and allocators to build relationships based on trust.

MEET FFI INAUGURAL COHORT

FFI kicked off its inaugural cohort in March 2020 with 11 carefully selected funds (10 venture and 1 private equity). Managers in the cohort receive robust community support, along with coaching and mentoring, to help make the difficult and emotionally taxing journey of launching a fund much more effective, efficient, and nourishing. Training, facilitated by experts from around the world, is helping them become more confident storytellers, smarter fund raisers and informed business owners. Collaboration among the managers is enabling them to expand their networks, share their insights and generate new ideas for interacting with allocators.

Collectively, the inaugural cohort is targeting AUM of $1 billion.  Half way into our program, three of our funds have had second closings, and four others are in advanced stages of due-diligence with a global family office allocator. Their investment portfolios represent +/-80 companies and just under 2,000 jobs. We are more convinced than ever that diverse fund managers will elevate diverse entrepreneurs who together will move us to a more diverse economy and real systems change.
